橡膠是高彈性的高分子化合物。分為天然橡膠與合成橡膠二種。天然橡膠是從橡膠樹、橡膠草等植物中提取膠質后加工制成；合成橡膠則由各種單體經聚合反應而得。橡膠制品廣泛應用于工業或生活各方面。

橡膠密封條分為：密封膠條、平條、u型條、橡膠板、U型、小u型、V型、P型、擋環球、彈跳球、密封u型條等

橡膠密封條已成為工業上極好的減震、密封、屈撓、耐磨、防腐、絕緣以及粘接等材料，橡膠可分為天然橡膠和合成橡膠兩大類。其中天然橡膠的消耗量占1／3，合成橡膠的消耗量占2／3。
